Feature Release
Over my career, I've worked for B2B software start-ups, products that are designed with the end-user in mind—whether IT professionals, developers, operations staff, legal experts, or general business users. However, it's common for the user's needs to get lost during the product development cycle.
But what if we could keep the focus on the user?
At Gigzz, we prioritize continual user engagement from Alpha to Beta testing, ensuring our features and fixes are driven by real user feedback and needs. This approach isn't just about adding features—it's about solving problems and enhancing usability—delivering value and impact.
Highlighting New Features:
1. New Calendar Feature: Designed to help teens manage their schedules effectively, this feature was inspired by direct feedback from our community. After observing a teen struggling with time management, the idea for a dedicated calendar to track gigs was born. This tool isn't just a calendar; it's a step towards helping teens balance their busy lives with school, sports, social activities, and work.
2. Miles vs. Location Visibility: Understanding the importance of safety and convenience, we now display the distance of gigs rather than specific locations. This feature helps teens decide if a job is within a comfortable traveling distance, whether it’s walkable or requires a drive, enhancing their ability to plan their day efficiently.
3. Enhanced Chat Functionality with Media Sharing: Feedback during our alpha testing highlighted the need for richer communication between teens and job providers. Responding to this, we've introduced the ability to add media to chats, allowing for a more detailed discussion about the gigs, including visual overviews of tasks.
Technical Improvements:
We've also dedicated significant effort to iron out bugs, improving overall app stability and performance. Currently, on version 1 (43), these enhancements underscore our commitment to delivering a reliable and effective platform.
Conclusion:
Every feature and fix in Gigzz is designed with the goal of making the app not just a tool for finding jobs but a platform that genuinely supports and empowers teens. We're committed to evolving based on our users' needs, helping them, and their parents, navigate the complexities of job management during these formative years.
